The Rycote Cyclone is the result of over a decade of design and innovation at Rycote.


The new 3D-Tex® material delivers audio transparancy and maximum wind protection. The basket can be opened or removed in seconds and has no parrallel sides to reduce standing waves.

All of these innovations work together to bring you a microphone basket and windshield which is easy to use, offers better wind protection and reduced handling noise.

A Windjammer is available and is recommended for high wind conditions.

The Windjammer first introduced by Rycote is a high quality synthetic fur-cover, which provides the highest possible protection against extreme wind-noise.

When using a Windjammer fitted over a Cyclone Windshield up to 60 dB of wind-noise attenuation can be achieved, producing excellent standard audio recordings.

Rycote's Extension Handle has been designed to allow products with a female 3/8" thread, i.e. portable audio recorder or camera to be either hand-held or mounted on a 3/8" male thread, such as a microphone stand or boom pole.
Thanks to its ergonomic, soft-grip feel, the handle can be used to comfortably hand-hold recording devices, and can be used together with our Portable Recorder Suspension, or InVision Broadcast suspension mounts.
