PSC Mic Power Supplies

The Professional Sound Corporation® Universal Microphone Power Supply is designed to fulfill all of your microphone powering needs. It is capable of powering both 12"T" (AB) microphones and 48PH phantom powered microphones, thus eliminating the redundancy of owning specialized power supplies. Included in the design is a three-way switchable high pass filter (0dB, -6dB, -12dB @100Hz) and a three-way switchable pad (0dB, -10dB, -20dB). A built in LED indicates battery condition upon power up ensuring trouble free field recording. The PSC Universal Microphone Power Supply contains an internal "T" power phase switch, allowing this power supply to be used with both "Standard" and "Red Dot" microphones.

The PSC Universal Microphone Power Supply operates from an easily accessible, 9V alkaline battery and provides over 20 hours of use with most microphones. The design also includes a rugged aircraft aluminum housing, powder coat finish, Neutrik™ connectors, and environmentally sealed NKK™switches.

Professional Sound Corporation® has been a leader in the design and manufacture of condenser microphone power supplies. The 12T and Universal Microphone Power Supplies are industry standards with thousands of units in use today. Their rugged, yet user friendly design has made them the most widely used power supplies on the market. With this in mind, PSC set out to design and build a new PSC 48 PHantom Microphone Supply specifically for use with the newer condenser microphones.

This new design was conceived as a simple alterative to our Universal Microphone Power Supply. Many of the new condenser microphone designs contain user switchable pads and low cut filters. Because of this, they have eliminated these functions from their new PSC 48 PHantom Microphone Supply. This supply utilizes a modern current control feedback regulator circuit to provide a constant 48 volts regardless of the current consumption of the microphone. Thus, it can power any 48PH microphone with ease and efficiency. The PSC 48 PHantom Microphone Supply operates from a single 9V alkaline battery for 10 to 30 hours. The unit is housed in a rugged, black anodized, aluminum case. A sturdy, removable belt clip is included.
